Please do not send me any of your manuscripts as if I were to read them and then, in the future, publish a book containing something similar to part of your manuscript, I could be getting letters from your solicitor, so all manuscripts will be returned, unread, if you have included return postage, or consigned to the recycling bin in shredded form.

I hope this doesn’t sound too unfriendly, but it might save a misunderstanding.
